Almost two thousand miles away from Santiago, Punta Arenas and the Magellan's Strip are found, practically when the map of the world ends. In spite of the distance imposed by the Andes and the glaciers, the city has been able to survive thanks to tourism, and the plants of oil and natural coil installed alongside the Strip.

- Punta Arenas offers an immediate attractive, because it is the most modern city on this part of the world. The Magellan-Punta Arenas area is located in the coast of the Magellan's Strip, and all along it you can find national reserves (Laguna Parrillar and Magallanes), the Pali Aike National Park and the cave of the same name, and rivers, hills, mountains, lagoons and the Bulnes Fort, are just a few of the places you must visit while you're here.
- How to get there
- You can get to Punta Arenas by plane or driving. There are direct flights from Santiago everyday. By land, there are two options: from Chile or Argentina, using one of the accesses available in the border: Monte Aymond in Magallanes and San Sebastian in Tierra del Fuego. In Chile, you can use the CH 255 route, which goes from Monte Aymond to Punta Arenas, right beside the Magellan's strip.
